Cesar Chavez March

Estaban Villa, Activist, Artist, Poet, Original member of the Royal Chicano Air Force, and a friend of mine, will be at the Cesar Chavez March this Saturday morning. Be there!

Si Se Puede!
Activist, Labor Leader, and friend, Al Rojas, will, to the best of my knowledge, be leading many of the activities this weekend at the Cesar Chavez March.

This Saturday, join the march with UFW farm workers, activists and the ritual dancers. This is a meaningful, purposeful, event that raises awareness about the suffering and hardship of labor around the state and across the nation. Cesar Chavez was one of our greatest leaders in terms of advocacy in California. The march begins in Southside park and continues to Chavez Square, where there are speeches, poetry and a ritual dance by Mexican performers.

Meets every week at 15th and L streets, 4-5pm, near the California capitol building

Death Penalty Protest at California Capitol

While there's something like a moratorium on the death penalty in California, it really hasn't officially put a stop to the practice of killing people in the name of the state. The temporary action has only put off what will eventually be brought back if legislation or judicial action doesn't put a permanent stop to it.

Come rally at the capitol on Monday, March 16 at Noon. This is a monthly recurring event.

Monday vigil at 5th and I streets for Rachel Corrie

Rachel Corrie was an American, living in Palestine - she was run over by a bulldozer, driven by an Israeli soldier. She stood in the way of the home of a Palestinian doctor. The bulldozer ran over her once, backed up over her body and then again proceeded over her, burying her in the soil. This is just one example of the atrocities that are being carried out on the Palestinian people (and those who support them) in Gaza and elsewhere.

I encourage all my friends to show up for the Rachel Corrie vigil, held at the Federal Building at 5th and I, 4-6pm, in Sacramento, CA on Monday.
